Lele Ho'okau on Ku'emanu Heiau.jpeg Boathouse in Central ParkThumbnailsKalalau Lookout
Ancient Hawaiians dedicated this site to surfing. But, early missionaries looked down on the spritual practices of the Hawaiians. They considered leles as altars to heathen gods and destroyed all that they could find. Modern surfers maintain this lele in memory of those who invented their favorite sport.
